OVERVIEW
AutoCAD Plant 3D provides the tools and features for piping, equipment
and structures used in the detailed design of process plant facilities.
This hands-on, project-based course takes participants through the
complete plant design workflow - from spec-driven modelling and standard
part catalogues right through to the production deliverables that drive
fabrication and construction.
Working within a coordinated, multi-discipline project environment, you
will build a full plant model and learn to generate isometrics,
orthographic GA drawings, bills of material and reports - all linked
back to a single intelligent 3D model.
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
- Use Plant 3D within a multi-discipline project environment
- Model structural steel, equipment and piping in 3D
- Produce GA drawings, piping isometrics and MTO / BOM reports
- Set up projects and manage piping catalogues and specifications
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is intended for piping, mechanical and structural designers,
engineers and CAD users who are moving into 3D plant design, or who want
to work more effectively within the Plant 3D project environment.
PREREQUISITES
A working knowledge of AutoCAD is required. Familiarity with general
plant design concepts is an advantage but not essential.
HOW THE COURSE IS DELIVERED
The course is instructor-led and delivered as a hands-on workshop, with
worked exercises throughout. Content is organised into eleven modules
that progress from the 3D modelling fundamentals, through equipment,
piping and structural modelling, to drawing production, reporting,
specifications and project administration.
It is available as scheduled training or as in-house training tailored
to your own project standards and specifications.
