Welcome & Agenda Overview (5 minutes)

  • Brief introduction to the session objectives and timeline.

Getting Started with 4MCAD (50 minutes)

  • What Is 4MCAD? (10 minutes)

    • Overview of CAD philosophies and the distinguishing features of 4MCAD.

    • Discussion of typical use cases (architecture, engineering, product design).

  • Interface Overview (15 minutes)

    • Ribbon Tabs: Home, Draw, Edit, Annotate.

    • Quick Access Toolbar: Save, Undo/Redo, Pan icons.

    • Drawing Window: Crosshair cursor, WCS icon, coordinate readout.

    • Status Bar Toggles: Snap, Grid, Model Space vs. Paper Space.

    • Model Space vs. Paper Space: When to use each and how they differ.

  • Settings & Preferences (15 minutes)

    • Units & Precision: Format options and decimal display settings.

    • Dynamic Input: On-screen prompts for lengths and angles.

    • Grid & Snap Settings: Spacing, increments, and toggling.

    • World Coordinate System (WCS): Understanding and repositioning.

    • Autosave & File Folders: Setting the autosave interval and default directories.

  • Navigation Tools (10 minutes)

    • Zoom Extents / Window: Quickly view all objects.

    • Pan: Move around the drawing smoothly.

    • 3D Orbit: Rotate the model in three dimensions.

Accurate Drawing Techniques (10 minutes)

  • Absolute vs. Relative Coordinates: Entering precise points.

  • Grid & Snap, Polar, and Ortho Modes: Enforcing straight lines and angles.

  • Object Snaps (OSNAP): Endpoint, midpoint, center, intersection.

Basic Geometry Creation (25 minutes)

  • Lines & Polylines: Drawing single lines, connected segments, and editing grip handles.

  • Circles & Arcs: Center-radius, three-point circles, and different arc commands.

  • Splines: Creating smooth curves and adjusting fit points.

  • Practical Tips: Using grips to edit geometry on the fly.

Blocks & Attributes (25 minutes)

  • Defining Blocks: Converting sets of objects into a reusable block definition.

  • Inserting & Scaling Blocks: Placing instances and adjusting scale factor.

  • Attributes in Blocks:

    • Creating attribute fields within block definitions (e.g., part numbers, labels).

    • Editing attribute values after insertion.

  • Best Practices: Organizing block libraries and naming conventions.

Final Q&A & Wrap-Up (5 minutes)
