Come Behind the Scenes: TDS Is Now on Instagram
Most of what we share on this blog and on YouTube is serious engineering: AVEVA Unified Engineering, PML, Navisworks and the AI tools we build around them. That work is what TDS does every day, but it is not the whole story. Behind every model and every plugin there is a small team that enjoys learning, trying new things and having a bit of fun along the way.
That is what our refreshed Instagram account, @tdsengrsolutions, is for. It is where we share TDS activities in a lighter, more visual way. Follow us on Instagram: instagram.com/tdsengrsolutions
Meet AiChi, our new team member
The face of our Instagram is AiChi (愛地, say "Eye-chee"), the TDS mascot. His name means "Love Earth", and his motto is "learning today for a sustainable Earth tomorrow". AiChi is a friendly robot who acts as the team's mentor and assistant, and he cares about technology, nature and the people around him.
We introduced AiChi with a short launch video that tells his story: growing up in Singapore with a hard-working father, discovering a love of building things, and joining the TDS team. A few years ago a small team like ours could not have made a video like this. Today, AI image, voice and video tools made it possible, and that is part of the message too: with today's AI we can do things we could never do before.
What you will find on our Instagram
The AiChi story, every Friday. Each week a short Reel shows another moment from AiChi's life. It starts with a walk through old Singapore with his dad and continues with teenage AiChi teaching himself to code in his room. Every clip is made with our own imagination and brought to life with AI.
Engineering with AI, in a minute. Bite-sized versions of our engineering experiments, such as AI reading pump parameters from AutoCAD Plant 3D and our Unified Engineering Bridge building the pump in AVEVA Unified Engineering in about ten minutes. The full videos stay on our YouTube channel.
Life at TDS. Courses, events and the everyday moments behind our projects, including our new AI Fundamentals course, which AiChi will help introduce.
Why we are doing this
We believe AI is most useful when people are comfortable trying it. Instagram lets us show that side of our work in a friendly way, through a character people can relate to, short clips and real examples, without the jargon. If a 10-second Reel makes someone curious enough to try AI in their own work, it has done its job.
